About the Role

Duke University is seeking a highly skilled Trauma Registrar to join our team. As a Trauma Registrar, you will play a critical role in maintaining the efficient operations of our hospital, state, and national trauma registry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the trauma registry database, including identification, collection, coding, scoring, and entry of data.
  • Perform follow-up for incidence, treatment, and outcomes, as well as performance improvement, administrative planning, and marketing.
  • Interpret data for research projects and ensure adherence to data management protocols.
  • Assist with quality control activities, information requests, and quality improvement studies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma plus 2 years post-high school education or associated work experience.
  • One year experience as a Trauma Registrar or similar health-related experience.
  • Previous experience in chart auditing, ICD9 & 10 codes, medical procedure coding strongly preferred.
Certifications
  • Successful completion of American Trauma Society's (ATS) registrar exam and the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicines' (AAAM) injury scale coding exam within 12-months of employment.
  • Maintain active license/certification such as RN, EMT, CNA, etc.
