Position Overview:
$15.00/hr
5am-until finished

The Driver Helper collaborates with the Route Driver to assist in the collection of waste and recyclable materials. This role involves:
  • Manually or mechanically loading and emptying residential and commercial containers into the truck.
  • Operating hoisting devices to lift and empty bins or containers into the truck hopper.
  • Assisting the driver with all backing maneuvers during the route.
  • Notifying the route manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Communicating service interruptions, such as closed or impassable streets, heavy receptacles, or potential safety hazards.
  • Conveying customer requests to dispatch or the route manager.
  • Performing all duties as scheduled by the route manager or dispatch and assisting other drivers as needed to meet customer requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and background check, which includes previous employment verification and criminal history.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be capable of pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
