Job Title: Registered Nurse

Reports to: Office Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: As a Registered Nurse at Cny Fertility Ctr, you will be responsible for providing patient-specific care in the area of fertility, including patient education, triage, procedures, and protocol in a clinical and operating room setting under the direction of the physician.

Required Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform phlebotomy successfully.
  2. Collect and label specimens as outlined in lab orders/requisitions.
  3. Transport specimens to the lab promptly for testing.
  4. Start, maintain, and discontinue IV lines.
  5. Administer medications and follow medication protocols.
  6. Provide patient education and medication administration teaching.
  7. Triage patient problems, questions, and concerns to the appropriate area.
  8. Maintain factual and thorough healthcare records.
  9. Communicate, review, and record all laboratory results.
  10. Perform transvaginal and abdominal follicular and prenatal ultrasounds.
  11. Monitor and manage fertility treatment cycles under the direction and supervision of physicians.
  12. Perform intrauterine inseminations and intrauterine infusions.
  13. Supervise all licensed practical nurses and medical assistants.
  14. Participate in staff development, nursing conferences, infectious disease classes, and continuing education pertaining to the area of expertise.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of technical training. Must be a graduate of an approved registered nursing program.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates and Licenses:

New York State Registered Nurse License

CPR/BLS
