Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:

This role involves overseeing procurement functions associated with the company's product inventory needs in the Midwest region. Procurement decisions are made within established cost and quality parameters to ensure timely delivery of products consistent with company policy and performance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Support: Provide technical support for major programs and projects, ensuring accurate ordering and payment requirements.
• Daily Reports: Review system-generated reports and internal department information to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Confirmations: Confirm POs for pricing, quantity, freight, and dates to ensure accuracy.
• Inventory Management: Use weekly reports and meetings to achieve optimal inventory levels and manage dated products and returns.
• Item/Vendor Maintenance: Update item and vendor information as required, including pricing, freight, brackets, and ship points.
• Communication: Regularly communicate with the Sales team to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: 2 years' purchasing or food distribution experience required; foodservice distribution experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent organizational skills, and follow-up abilities required; AS400 experience a plus.

Decision Making Authority:

• Daily Procurement Decisions: Decide on items and quantities purchased daily.
• Supplier Decisions: Select vendors based on product requirements.
• Inventory Management Decisions: Manage product movement and shelf-life.
• Price Negotiations: Engage in occasional price negotiations with vendors.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location. Please note that this figure is an estimate and may vary based on individual circumstances.
