Role Responsibilities

The Certified Nursing Assistant plays a crucial role within the interdisciplinary team, working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing personal care to patients, responding promptly to their needs.
  • Ensuring patient safety and utilizing equipment properly.
  • Administering personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, oral care, and changing linens.
  • Assisting patients with dressing and feeding as required.
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs as directed.
  • Observing and reporting any changes in the patient's condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Facilitating patient mobility and exercise as instructed.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized living environment for the patient.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of a state-approved training program and competency evaluation.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Preferred experience in home health or hospice settings.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and document care accurately.
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of patient needs.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Working Environment

This position involves working in a community home setting, with potential exposure to infectious diseases. The role requires flexibility and the ability to work independently while maintaining a calm demeanor in various situations.
