Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at TransForce. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and various components of our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles, machinery, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic and Repair Services: Perform diagnostic tests on diesel engines and related systems, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and conduct repairs on engines, transmission systems, exhaust systems, brake systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
  • Maintenance and Inspection: Carry out regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations, inspect and test vehicles and components to ensure proper functioning, and maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Component Replacement and Repair: Dismantle and reassemble engines and other components, replace or repair defective parts using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment, and ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Inventory Management and Communication: Communicate inventory needs of parts and materials to leadership and the inventory/parts team, and maintain an organized, clean, and safe working environment.
  • Adherence to Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols, ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Communication and Reporting: Communicate effectively with vehicle operators regarding maintenance needs and repairs, provide detailed reports on the work performed and any additional required actions, and assist other mechanics with tasks when needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or in a related field.
  • Education: Technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics or a related field.
  • Certifications: Valid Driver's License and CDL-A.
Work Environment

The work environment will vary with temperatures, and you may be required to lift up to 80-85lbs, stand, bend, lift, and twist for up to 90% of your shift.

  • Physical Abilities: Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily, work in various temperature-controlled environments, and operate required material handling equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as a team player to ensure completion of all work assignments.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives, and drive safety policies to ensure accountability of safe practices throughout the shift.
