Job Summary

KPC Promise Hospital of SALT LAKE seeks a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the successful candidate will administer physical therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal, state/local standards and regulations and within the scope of practice, consistent with the Code of Ethics of the profession.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out goal-oriented treatment to facilitate increased mobility, increased strength, and decreased pain, with the ultimate goal of restoring, reinforcing, and enhancing performance. Additionally, the Physical Therapist Assistant will instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in those skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administer physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  2. Carry out goal-oriented treatment to facilitate increased mobility, increased strength, and decreased pain.
  3. Instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in essential skills and functions.
  4. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Requirements:

  1. Associate Degree from CAPTE (Commission for Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education) certified program.
  2. Current state license and ability to maintain license renewal in accordance with the applicable state licensing board.
  3. Long-term acute care and rehabilitation experience preferred.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Basic computer skills with minimal guidance.

Equipment, Tools, Materials, Machines Used: Beds, scales, lifts, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot packs/cold packs, ADL equipment/assistive devices, orthotics, splints, prosthetics, B/P cuff, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, printers, computers

Certifications: CPR Certification
