Job Summary:

As a Cardiac Catheterization Lab Specialist at Bon Secours Mercy Health, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in performing invasive and non-invasive cardiac, structural heart interventions, and vascular procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (CCL).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians in preparing patients and procedural sites using aseptic techniques.
  • Calibrate equipment, prepare supplies, devices, and instruments for procedures.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor complex digital medical and fluoroscopic equipment to ensure accurate image acquisition and expected patient outcomes.
  • Utilize multiple computer applications and medical devices for proper procedure documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Monitor, interpret, and calculate hemodynamic waveforms and EKGs.
  • Assist with the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of patient care under the supervision of the physician in the CCL to promote safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care.
  • Maintain an electronically and radiologically safe environment in the CCL.
  • Maintain integrity of CCL supply inventory.
  • Ensure accurate charge capture.
Requirements:
  • Vocational/Technical Degree.
  • RCIS credentialed through Cardiovascular Credentialing International and/or RT through ARRT.
  • BLS/ACLS certification.
  • Basic dysrhythmia course.
  • 6-12 months on-the-job training in electrocardiograph interpretation, aseptic techniques, and cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Cath Lab or RT experience.
