Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diet Technician to join our team at Spaulding Rehabilitation. As a Diet Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our Registered Dietitian in assessing individual nutritional needs and implementing nutritional prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to identify food preferences, allergies, and nutritional status
  • Perform meal rounds to monitor food quality and patient intake
  • Visit assigned patients daily to assess tolerance of nutritional therapy
  • Provide patient menu assistance to ensure compliance with prescribed diet
  • Collect, calculate, and record nutrient intakes in medical records
  • Update patient menus as necessary
  • Distribute and retrieve patient selective menus
  • Complete clerical duties, including heading menus and preparing production sheets
  • Reinforce patient education to support established regimen
  • Monitor quality assurance and complete additional department activities
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Food and Nutrition or equivalent experience
  • Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Ability to maintain a variable work schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekends
