Registered Nurse - PRN Opportunity

The Surgery Center of Bluffton is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a PRN (as-needed) nurse. As a PRN nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care in our state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage the recovery room, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to nursing staff, considering their abilities and expertise.
  • Utilize equipment and supplies efficiently, anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate care.
  • Ensure adherence to accepted standards of practice and protocols.
  • Assist in managing inventory and maintaining stock levels in the postoperative area.
  • Maintain a clean and organized postoperative area, promoting a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Provide individualized nursing care to patients in the immediate postoperative/post-anesthesia period.
  • Assess and document patient physical and emotional status upon arrival in the recovery room.
  • Document post-anesthesia care and patient information according to approved policies and procedures.
  • Provide nursing care tailored to patient needs related to surgical condition and anesthesia administered.
  • Monitor patients and notify the surgeon or anesthetist of any observed complications.
  • Conduct thorough postoperative patient assessments prior to discharge.
  • Assist in assessing patient physical and emotional status in preparation for discharge.
  • Develop a plan of care based on assessment data.
  • Review postoperative instructions and prescriptions with patients and significant others, documenting in the patient's medical record.
  • Inform patients and families about appropriate care and procedures to follow upon returning home.
  • Determine patient and significant other understanding of conditions requiring immediate care and method to obtain immediate care.
  • Provide comfort and reassurance to patients, promoting privacy and dignity.
