Physician Assistant Opportunity

The Mesquite Independent School District and City of Mesquite are seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to join their joint employee health clinic team.

The successful candidate will provide diagnostic and therapeutic medical care to employees, assist in the observation and evaluation of patients, and develop treatment plans.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmaceuticals, including mechanisms of action, side effects, and interactions. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and administrators.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic medical care to employees
  • Assist in the observation and evaluation of patients
  • Develop treatment plans
  • Order laboratory tests and interpret results
  • Perform minor surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care

Requirements:

  • Completed an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Licensed to practice medicine as a Physician Assistant by the Texas Medical Board
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Continuing medical education credits as required by the Texas Medical Board

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of practical experience with patients
  • Interest in practicing preventative medicine and promoting healthy lifestyles
  • Advanced understanding of pharmaceuticals
  • Strong assessment skills and logical process to gather and analyze data
