Surgical Technician

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up the sterile table and ensuring all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications are available.
  • Assisting the RN in counting sponges, instruments, and other materials during surgery.
  • Gowning and gloving surgical team members and draping patients.
  • Maintaining aseptic conditions throughout the procedure.
  • Participating in the intraoperative 'timeout.'
  • Collecting, identifying, and labeling specimens removed during surgical procedures.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the CAAHEP or ABHES, or a military surgical technology program, or certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist.
