Patient Imaging Support Specialist

Position Overview:
Assists and observes in various capacities within the Orlando Health Imaging departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transports patients using beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs, adhering to HIPAA regulations and proper handoff procedures.
- Implements double identification for each patient in accordance with The Joint Commission standards to ensure patient safety.
- Manages the ordering and receipt of radiology supplies on a weekly basis.
- Facilitates the pickup and delivery of requisitions, specimens, and other essential materials within the facility.
- Aids in the stocking and cleaning of rooms, ensuring supplies are organized correctly.
- Reports any malfunctioning equipment, hazardous situations, or incidents to the supervisor for appropriate action.
- Returns equipment to its designated storage area and maintains transport equipment, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation as needed.
- Oversees the maintenance of oxygen and suction supplies as required by the facility.
- Effectively utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems for accurate data management.
- Delivers interdepartmental mail as necessary.
- Upholds Orlando Health's mission statement and strategic goals.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance in line with Orlando Health policies and applicable regulations.
- Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies, departmental guidelines, and educational requirements.
- Participates in meetings and training sessions as required.
- Maintains the knowledge and skill level necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient’s age and condition.
- Takes responsibility for ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
Education/Training
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Must possess Phlebotomy certification.
- BLS/Healthcare Provider certification must be obtained within three months of hire.
