Pharmacy Technician

PharMerica is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs for hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide.
Responsibilities:- Enter data into computer system to fill prescriptions and to obtain reimbursement/payment, utilizing knowledge of drugs, medical nomenclature, and the metric system
- Reads and inputs written prescriptions and medical data, including performing drug calculations and interpreting physicians' orders into the computerized med. order system
- Performs computer system operations which may include order entry, billing, crediting, and updating medical records
- Inputs daily orders (new and refills)
- Audits the input versus documentation and makes corrections as required
- Generates reports as needed
- Identifies and resolves issues of denials or follow-up of claims, by maintaining current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes
- Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Data Entry Technicians
- May enter IV medication orders into medication order system
- Performs Pharmacy Technician duties as required
- Performs other tasks assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent; National PTCB Technician Certification desired
- One year experience in data entry in a long-term care pharmacy
- Ability to communicate effectively, work as a member of a team, recognize and identify patient medications
- Skilled in operating a computer
- Skilled in performing detailed work
- Knowledge of Medicaid claims regulations and processes
- As required by state, technician licensure or certification in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas
