About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Duty Truck Technician to join our team at Inland Kenworth US INC. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, including engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Analyze customers' truck performance complaints, diagnose the cause of any malfunctions, and perform repair.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts and document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Quality and Safety: Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended, and become familiar with and comply with the company's Health & Safety Manual.
  • Shop Maintenance: Keep shop area neat and clean after each repair, return all common tools that were used in the repair to their designated storage place, and understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years' experience as a Class 8 technician, preferably in a dealership or related truck facility.
  • Certifications: A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills and experience, ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and mobility to easily access and egress trucks and equipment.
  • Attendance: Regular, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
