Job Summary: As a Field Technician with the Armstrong Group, you will be responsible for installing, upgrading, and maintaining residential security systems. This role requires technical expertise in security systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install or upgrade residential security equipment, including burglar alarms and CCTV systems.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers and provide a thorough explanation of the Extended Repair Agreement, system capabilities, and system operation.
  • Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Read blueprints and building electrical and sprinkler plans to complete equipment repairs.
  • Test backup batteries, keypad programming, and all features to ensure proper functioning and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
  • Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
  • Keep informed of new products and developments.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
  • Maintain inventory control of assigned equipment to ensure adequate stock levels.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience performing similar duties, including installing or servicing security systems.
  • Expert troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with computer hardware components and software packages.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Trade licenses and registrations in accordance with state/local regulations as required.
