Position Overview:


All Environmental Services staff will engage in a rotating on-call program, utilizing a cell phone to respond to various tasks at different hours throughout the day and night.


Environmental Services Technicians are responsible for performing all necessary cleaning duties within the interior and exterior of all designated buildings.


Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and restocking restrooms with essential supplies.
- Emptying trash receptacles and ensuring proper disposal of waste.
- Conducting routine maintenance on custodial equipment and supplies.


- Ensuring proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies, while promoting continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.

- Maintaining adequate supplies for daily custodial needs.
- Securing and locking all doors after cleaning in designated areas.
- Cleaning floors and carpets, which may involve the use of scrubbing machines, vacuums, and extractors.


As this position is essential, staff are expected to report to campus during emergencies unless otherwise excused by supervisory personnel.


Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check is necessary.
- Familiarity with Hazardous Materials procedures is essential.
- At least one year of general cleaning experience, with knowledge of carpet and floor maintenance techniques and equipment.

Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:


This position requires considerable physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling, with the ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds.

Incumbents must possess the dexterity required for cleaning tasks, such as bending, stooping, stretching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.

Physical work constitutes more than 70% of the job, and incumbents must also have the dexterity to perform typing and operate office equipment.

Work environments may involve frequent exposure to hazards or physical risks, necessitating adherence to basic safety precautions.

Moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises may occur.
