Regional Admissions Counselor

Lamar University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Admissions Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for recruiting prospective students by promoting Lamar University programs to undergraduate students, providing pre-admission advisement, and ensuring enrollment goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruit prospective students by providing accurate and timely pre-admission advisement to prospective students, parents, families, and other members of the public.
- Facilitate the pre-admission, conversion, admission, and enrollment process through various sales methods and recruitment strategies.
- Attend events and make presentations to communicate with prospective students and their parents to promote Lamar University and its programs.
- Develop and implement recruitment planning and strategies for assigned territories and recruitment specialty areas based on managed yield data.
- Assist prospective students and their families with the ApplyTexas Application, Federal Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA), and other pre-college preparation requirements.
- Train and mentor new Admissions Counselors and Regional Admissions Counselors throughout their first recruitment cycle.
- Collaborate with area high schools, technical centers, businesses, and other constituencies to prepare students for college and enrollment at Lamar University.
- Bachelor's Degree or combination of college credit and applicable higher education experience.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively and respectfully.
- Demonstrated time management, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Tact and judgement in obtaining or giving information of a confidential nature.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Experience recruiting varied student population, including low socioeconomic (SES), first generation, and other groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education.
- Sales experience and familiarity with customer relationship management systems (CRMs), relationship selling, and other sales techniques.
