Aureus Medical Group - Imaging is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join their team for a travel assignment in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Job Summary:

To perform routine and specialized examinations in Ultrasound, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results, and preparing patients for examinations.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs ultrasound procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages.
  • Exhibits competency in performing ultrasound procedures, imaging required views demonstrating appropriate anatomy and pathology, and maintaining quality care throughout the procedure.
  • Evaluates the finished images to ensure diagnostic exams are being submitted to the radiologists, maintains working knowledge of equipment, and performs reasonable trouble shooting.
  • Reports equipment problems through appropriate channels, documents on board for all staff notification, and maintains clean work area, checks, and stocks all supplies in their specific area.
  • Assists radiologist with biopsy, orders labs and pathology tests under the direction of a radiologist, and performs support functions of the Medical Imaging department to ensure patient expectations and needs are met.

Requirements:

  • CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Knowledgeable of catheters, biopsy instruments, and sterile trays
  • Ability to document area of concern and set up trays with sterile field for radiologist
