HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Order Entry Pharmacy Technician to fill an opening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately triage, interpret, and input medication orders into the computerized system while adhering to pharmacy productivity and accuracy standards. Regularly audit entries against documentation and make necessary corrections.
- Perform essential drug calculations, including basic math conversions (e.g., milligrams).
- Address issues related to claim denials identified during adjudication and follow up on claims in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and procedures.
- Generate reports and keep management informed about unpaid claims and those pending follow-up.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients in alignment with company values.
- Assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned, which may involve supporting various areas of the pharmacy as directed by management.
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday with alternating weekends; work hours may vary based on weekend coverage. Shifts are 8 hours long, typically scheduled between 3:30 PM and 12 AM.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a pharmacy-related role.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceuticals, medication terminology, and the metric system; proficiency in computer operations.
- Licenses/Certifications: As mandated by state regulations, required in the state of MA.
- Detail-oriented, goal-driven, team-oriented, with strong customer service and communication skills.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Order Entry Technician in a specialty pharmacy environment.
