Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled Travel Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders.

About the Role

This 13-week contract position requires a licensed respiratory therapist with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, and implementation. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans for patients with respiratory issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary conditions, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams.
    • Assess lung function, breathing patterns, oxygen levels, and other vital signs through non-invasive and invasive diagnostic procedures.
  • Developing and Implementing Treatment Plans:
    • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients with respiratory issues.
    • Adjust and monitor ventilation settings for patients requiring mechanical ventilation or non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (e.g., CPAP, BiPAP).
  • Administering Respiratory Treatments:
    • Provide oxygen therapy via nasal cannulas, masks, or mechanical ventilators for patients with respiratory distress or low oxygen levels.
    • Perform aerosol therapy to deliver medication directly to the lungs via inhalers, nebulizers, or other devices.
    • Administer incentive spirometry to improve lung function and encourage deep breathing after surgery or illness.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced respiratory therapist with a strong background in patient care and treatment planning. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated at $140,000 per year, based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week. In addition to a competitive salary, Magnet Medical offers a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
