Job Summary:
The Director of Emergency Services assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for nursing care in the emergency department. This position requires knowledge and skill of professional nursing theory and practice, leadership in administration, principles of effective teaching, learning, and mentoring, fiscal management, and effective interpersonal relationships and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and support to charge nurse staff, clinical educators, and clinical staff using creative leadership to ensure best outcomes in high-quality, compassionate patient and family care.
- Work collaboratively with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, programs, and services consistent with the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification desired.
- 3-5 years of related experience, including clinical expertise as an emergency department RN and recent management of a growing ER and Urgent Care.
Competencies:
- Maintain unit-specific and hospital competencies in accordance with policy requirements.
- Participate in mandatory learning and any clinical certifications required.
