Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Tech Assistant to join our team at Regional Medical Imaging. As a key member of our imaging department, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient workflow and optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist technologists in confirming scheduled exams and verifying patient data to ensure accurate and safe procedures.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures, obtain pertinent exam information, and verify safety requirements for metal objects and implants.
  • Position patients on scanner tables, place coils, and confirm patient comfort and emergency bulb operation.
  • Gain IV access as needed for contrast injections and maintain a safe work area according to ACR White Paper on MR Safety.
  • Display competency with RIS and PACS systems, and perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • 6-12 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred, or equivalent work experience and training.
  • Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience, including the ability to start IVs.
  • CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens certification.
Work Environment

This part-time, non-exempt position requires working weekends (Saturday & Sunday) from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
