Job Summary

Cornerstone Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of our school facilities. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of our buildings, grounds, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of school facilities, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, and electrical systems.
  • Manage and supervise a team of maintenance staff, including custodians, groundskeepers, and security personnel.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity of our facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards and maintenance issues.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and staff to ensure that facilities meet the needs of our students and staff.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of facilities and maintenance resources.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a facilities management or maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations and codes.
  • Boiler license required.
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with maintenance management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
