Job Summary:

As a CT Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for providing high-quality CT and diagnostic X-ray imaging services to patients in accordance with physician orders. You will ensure patient safety and provide excellent patient care, preparing rooms and diagnostic/CT equipment for procedures. You will also perform testing, operating equipment according to prescribed safety standards, and process images. Your professional judgment and medical ethics will be essential in the performance of diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality images through protocols and positions to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patients' comfort and ability.
  • Demonstrate knowledge to perform cross-section imaging and produce images in accordance with proper radiographic techniques.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
  • Provide patient education on procedures according to age-specific needs and facilitate patients' cooperation and alleviate anxiety by addressing concerns.
  • Verify appropriate procedures to be performed by checking physicians' orders and outpatient prescriptions, and contact physicians with discrepancies.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation prior to procedures and assist with procedures as needed.
Customer Service:

You will provide timely, responsive, expert services to customers in a positive and friendly manner, including patients, physicians, and fellow employees. You will inform consumers and those accompanying them when delays exist and how they are being addressed, promoting patient-focused care throughout daily activities.

Patient and Employee Safety:

You will maintain safe radiation levels at all times to minimize exposure to patients, yourself, and others. You will perform all necessary equipment checks prior to use, ensure patient and regulatory standards are adhered to, and suggest ways to improve patient outcomes when indicated. You will complete quality assurance, quality control, and radiation safety activities as appropriate.

Requirements:
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (Washington)
  • Basic Life Support
  • Communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year experience in a hospital setting
  • One (1) year of direct cross-sectional anatomy experience
  • One (1) year of recent direct experience in diagnostic X-ray procedures
