About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Special Education Teacher to join our community of educators at Boston Public Schools. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting students with moderate to severe cognitive delays in a Gr. 7 inclusion setting.
Responsibilities
Implement district learning goals and objectives in alignment with state frameworks, with a focus on identifying access points for student portfolio development.
Provide small-group instruction to students, ensuring understanding and progress in the general curriculum.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide timely and regular progress reports on student development.
Provide needed accommodations for student learning and testing when required.
Collaborate with colleagues to support student needs and develop strategies for modification.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree and a Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities for Gr. 7 are required.
Experience teaching in urban schools and a degree in Special Education are preferred.
A commitment to linguistic diversity and cultural proficiency is essential.
Benefits
Boston Public Schools offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $110,000, depending on experience.
