Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant provides clinical support to the physician and mid-level providers, ensuring a positive patient experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing patients for exams and acquiring vital signs
- Providing patient care and clinical support during exams
- Documenting clinical findings and patient responses
- Collecting and providing laboratory/test findings and physician referral information
The Medical Assistant is responsible for:
- Providing courteous and respectful service to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians
- Registering patients and obtaining necessary insurance information
- Obtaining pre-certification and consent for services and billing
- Monitoring and following up on additional pre-authorizations for ongoing patient services
- Collecting co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles as needed
To be successful in this role, the Medical Assistant should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited medical assisting school
- Successful completion of a registration/certification exam
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
The ideal candidate will have:
- An associate degree or certificate in a related field
- Experience with electronic medical records software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
