Job Title: Metro Navigator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Metro Navigator to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a key member of our Child Welfare team, you will play a critical role in supporting families and children in our state.

Job Summary:

The Metro Navigator will provide exceptional customer service to prospective and current foster and adoptive families, guiding them through the child welfare system. This role requires a strong understanding of child welfare policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and supportive services to prospective and current foster and adoptive families
  • Develop and implement targeted recruitment and retention plans for foster and adoptive families
  • Collaborate with agency staff and community partners to ensure effective support for families
  • Conduct assessments and develop safety plans for children and families
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and provide expert advice on child welfare matters
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Family Studies/Services
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in child welfare or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the region
