Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and clinical support for physicians in an outpatient setting.
Your key responsibilities will include obtaining and documenting patient information, setting up examination rooms between cases, assisting patients with preparation for visits with providers, and providing direct care as directed by the provider based on competency and clinic needs.
You will also prepare and administer medications according to policy and procedure after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency, complete tests and treatments per provider order, collect laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork, perform phlebotomy and may assist in laboratory functions, and execute clerical duties to support patient care.
In addition, you will document in the electronic medical record and provide administrative and clerical assistance including patient scheduling, filing reports, and responding to documentation inquiries.
A graduate from a specialty training program is required, and a minimum of 1 year-related work experience is preferred. You must be certified as a Medical Assistant through one of the governing associations such as NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year.
