Position Title: Product Engineer I - Focused on Verification & Validation Planning

Position Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to contribute to product design and testing processes within a collaborative team setting. The engineer will assist in the development of design solutions and partake in design evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in various tasks under the mentorship of senior engineers to aid in the analysis of data and the specification of methods and processes necessary for enhancing manufacturing or materials operations.
  • Support the creation and execution of feasibility tests for proposed engineering solutions, providing essential feedback to validate designs.
  • Assist in drafting engineering standards and specifications, evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Conduct inspections under the guidance of experienced colleagues to assess the quality of engineering outputs and recommend necessary remedial actions to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Identify and address deficiencies in current processes and systems using established change management protocols.
  • Operate within a structured project management framework to meet defined objectives.
  • Enhance personal skills through participation in development activities and training; pursue relevant professional certifications to improve performance.
  • Stay informed about relevant technologies, regulations, and industry best practices through continuous education and professional development.
  • Collaborate with various professional teams across organizational boundaries to ensure seamless support for service users.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical and user documentation, ensuring data is backed up for quick recovery in case of issues.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while utilizing advanced engineering technologies to achieve results.
  • Competence in executing engineering designs using appropriate methodologies and tools.
  • Capability to meet engineering development targets with the right processes and software.
  • Proficiency in producing technical specifications and related documentation.
  • Experience in testing, evaluating, and enhancing engineering outcomes.
  • Ability to manage safe work systems with minimal oversight.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for articulating ideas and formulating plans.
  • Skill in identifying and managing project-related risks.
  • Experience in tracking project progress to ensure alignment with ultimate goals.
  • Ability to analyze data trends for reporting purposes to support decision-making.
  • Competence in establishing rules for requirements and quality design, performing verification activities, and maintaining quality control.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Specific Position Qualifications:

  • Preferred 4-year engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Must possess metatarsal safety footwear.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating testing and analysis for design projects of varying complexity.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment in Product Verification and Validation.
  • Proficient in developing and executing test plans for product validation.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to document procedures clearly.
  • Capability to lead and conduct vehicle tests.
  • Experience in analyzing complex data and making informed recommendations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically for field tests.
  • Hands-on skills with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
