Job Description:

9N Neuro NeuroSurgery is a 23-bed unit that emphasizes the care of acute CVA patients. The unit also cares for a wide variety of neurology-based diagnoses, including non-surgical neurology and post-operative patients. Nurses on this unit will have the opportunity to care for patients with thoracic/lumbar laminectomies, cervical/lumbar fusions, post-op day 2 craniotomies, and VP shunts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess human responses and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families.
  • Provide leadership in a professional practice setting.
  • Assign or delegate tasks based on the needs of the patient and skill level of the RN, LPN, or support staff.
  • Consider maintenance of a safe environment, patient condition, complexity of the intervention, and predictability of the outcome.
  • Provide peers with both verbal and written feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance.
  • Share knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues.
  • Participate on interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care or health services.
  • Promote patient safety initiatives.
  • Participate in department-specific quality initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Completed RN training program and have PA RN licensure or have applied for practice permit.
  • CPR Certification.
