About Us

As a key member of our engineering team, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a vital role in overseeing the coordination and implementation of Civil & Structural engineering for various projects, including Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substations, Railway Electrification, and Renewable Energy (Wind/Solar) Substations. Your focus will be on ensuring project safety, cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver civil & structural engineering services throughout the proposal, design, and construction phases of AIS and GIS substations, Railway electrification, and Renewable projects, adhering strictly to project contracts.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts by introducing innovative solutions, cost-saving strategies, and value-added enhancements to the overall design concept.
  • Engage in marketing activities such as tender processing, preparing cost estimates, issuing RFQs to contractors, reviewing bids, and addressing inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations of existing structures, foundations, and equipment in brownfield substation projects.
  • Provide expertise to proposal and project teams in assessing construction sub-contractor bids and negotiating contracts for electrical substations and switchyard projects.
  • Prepare, update, and manage the execution of civil & structural engineering activities within project schedules, emphasizing timely delivery, quality of outputs, and cost management.
  • Collaborate with the project lead engineer to establish Design Criteria and Document Deliverables for each project.
  • Offer engineering and design support in specific civil & structural areas, including but not limited to:
    • General arrangement reviews for substations/switchyards (AIS and GIS)
    • Estimating civil & structural quantities with a focus on cost efficiency
    • Designing grading and drainage systems
    • Calculating and designing foundations
    • Developing anchor bolt plans and details
    • Performing calculations and designs for steel structures
    • Conducting building calculations and designs
    • Specifying equipment requirements
    • Reviewing equipment documentation
    • Ensuring seismic qualification
    • Creating material and construction specifications
    • Signing and sealing design packages
    • Resolving civil and structural design challenges identified by the project execution team.
  • Notify the project lead engineer of any engineering and design challenges that may negatively impact safety, reliability, quality, cost, or project timelines, while providing recommended solutions.
  • Conduct technical, cost-saving, and constructability reviews of civil & structural design packages from internal teams, outsourced engineering, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Utilize knowledge of relevant standards and codes to ensure compliance with national and local regulations.
  • Assist the department manager in achieving departmental objectives.
  • Adhere to Linxon’s quality processes and document control procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of design documents.
  • Be prepared to provide Construction and Field Engineering support during the construction phase of projects.
  • Manage Change Requests, including providing technical information to support variations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering certification is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of eight years of experience in foundation, reinforced concrete, and steel design, or a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with at least six years of relevant experience.
Additional Competencies:
  • Experience with both outdoor and indoor GIS applications, with a strong understanding of the necessary building infrastructure for GIS.
  • Familiarity with HV power cable system applications, including cable vault layouts and GIS sealing end/air termination applications.
Experience and Skills:
  • Knowledge of Geotechnical site surveys, earthworks, site grading, and drainage.
  • Proficiency in Structural Analysis and Design Software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000).
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microstation).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for both domestic and international projects.
