Job Summary:

As a Cardiovascular Tech at Emerson Hospital, you will play a critical role in performing a wide variety of diagnostic cardiology testing on patients. Reporting to Physician(s) and the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic cardiology testing, including echocardiograms, stress tests, and holter monitoring.
  • Operate and maintain complex medical equipment, including ultrasound machines and ECG devices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical technologies and techniques to provide high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • One to Two years of relevant work experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist or EKG Technician in a medical/physician's office highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with holter applications highly preferred.
  • Experience as a Certified Exercise Specialist (CES) helpful.
  • Licensure and/or Certification: Certified Exercise Specialist (CES) preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer skills with the GE Centricity electronic medical record (EMR), Meditech.
  • Must be well versed in medical terminology.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy, cardiovascular pathophysiology, hemodynamics, and embryology.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, tissue characteristics, and measurements of blood flow.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
