About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Chemist to join our team at Republic Services, Inc. As a Field Chemist, you will play a critical role in facilitating our Lab Pack Program, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), and other field activities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide field services for customers on their site, including the characterization, packaging, handling, and transportation of wastes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Lab Packing services at customer sites, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and established company procedures.
  • Sample and characterize hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Generate waste profiles into end-user facilities.
  • Perform price quotes for customers.
  • Provide customers with detailed inventories of waste on site.
  • Transport wastes from customer sites to end-user or transfer facilities.
  • Generate required internal paperwork to provide accurate and timely customer service and invoicing.
  • Help to off-load waste at end-user facilities.
  • De-pack and consolidate waste.
  • Provide technical support.
Requirements
  • Knowledgeable of chemistry principles and practices, including analysis and evaluation, and waste processing protocols.
  • Required skills include performing proper analysis, presenting findings in a concise format, addressing difficult situations in a constructive manner, utilizing computer technology for communication, data gathering, and reporting, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Building a rapport with associates and managers, detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy, and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data.
