Staff Chemist

ECC is seeking a highly skilled Staff Chemist to join our team. As a key member of our environmental remediation team, you will be responsible for planning, selecting, coordinating, and implementing chemical, analytical, and environmental services to address the scope of work on environmental remediation and hazardous waste management projects.

• Validate data and generate data tables
• Manage data and review analytical chemistry laboratory results for compliance with project Data Quality Objectives (DQO)
• Ensure alignment with the Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) and compare laboratory quality control results to the SAP's Measurement Performance Criteria (MPC)
• Apply qualifiers to data based on MPC exceedance and document the data validation process in a Data Validation Report (DVR)
• Annotate EDD (Excel format) with data validation qualifier and include a reason code to explain the rationale for the qualification

• Knowledge of chemical, analytical, regulatory, and scientific principles and analytical tools
• Understanding of design and application of sampling and analysis processes and remediation technologies to achieve project goals
• Knowledge of Federal environmental regulations, DoD guidelines, OSHA standards, USACE QC protocol, building codes/standards, and FAR
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and recommend remedial alternatives
• Effective communication and review of work by others
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
• Ability to work well independently and as a team
• Competency in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows

• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER Certification
• Two years of progressively responsible experience conducting field sampling, operation and maintenance, or other environmental services, with two years of field experience
