Pool Safety Attendant

The Archdiocese of Baltimore is in search of a dedicated Pool Safety Attendant. The primary duty of this role is to safeguard individuals from drowning and other potential injuries. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to maintain a secure environment for all visitors by identifying and mitigating hazardous situations or behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and secure the pool area at the beginning and end of each operational day.
- Vigilantly observe activities in and around the pool, promptly addressing any safety concerns that arise during the shift.
- Instruct swimmers to exit the water during unsafe conditions.
- Continuously monitor weather conditions to ensure the safety of all guests.
- Uphold a pristine and hygienic pool environment.
- Possess a valid Lifeguarding Certification or demonstrate the ability to acquire it upon hiring, providing proof to the employer.
- Previous experience in lifeguarding or instructing swim lessons is advantageous.
- Hold current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or show the capacity to obtain these certifications upon hiring, with proof presented to the employer.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently throughout the workday.
- Current Lifeguard Certification is mandatory.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certifications are required.
