This role provides an opportunity for supplemental income as an Independent Contractor. Quest Diagnostics stands as a premier provider of Worksite Wellness Screenings, Immunizations, and health enhancement initiatives. Our Healthcare Professionals travel to various businesses and organizations to conduct screenings and administer immunizations for their workforce. During a wellness screening, a provider will gather essential health metrics, including height, weight, blood pressure, waist and/or hip circumference, alongside a finger stick for glucose and cholesterol assessments. These events typically occur during standard business hours. If you have at least two weekdays consistently available, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct biometric screenings at client locations, including finger stick blood collection;
- Deliver outstanding customer service during all health screenings and immunization events;
- Ensure accurate, complete, and legible documentation;
- Engage in training and continuing education as required;
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in the workplace, including the use of necessary protective equipment to mitigate exposure to potentially infectious materials;
- Comprehend and comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Follow quality assurance protocols and good manufacturing practices;
- Uphold all HIPAA and OSHA standards during events;
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma/GED and/or medical license (Nursing license);
- Formal medical education with current relevant medical certification;
- Additional medical certification/licensure as mandated by state or regulatory requirements.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment;
- Completion of a fingerstick within the last 2 years;
- Proficient in finger stick blood collection techniques and manual blood pressure measurement;
- At least one year of experience in Immunization/IM injections;
- Experience with CardioChek machines is preferred;
- Skills in proper specimen and reagent handling, labeling, processing, preparation, transportation, and storage.
Work Environment:
- Wellness screenings are generally conducted in a corporate or conference room setting;
- Travel to screening event locations is required within a 30-mile radius;
- Ability to lift light to moderately heavy items, with the potential to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds;
- Demonstrate fine motor skills and steadiness;
- Ability to observe and examine details;
- Follow COVID-19 safety measures;
- Remote interview process available;
- Personal protective equipment will be provided as necessary;
- Temperature screenings and sanitization protocols will be in place.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Compensation: $28 - $32 per hour
