Position Overview:

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Telemetry Services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care through a variety of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee clinical nursing practices and patient care processes, ensuring effective management of resources.
  • Act as a liaison among patients, families, healthcare providers, and ancillary departments to facilitate seamless patient care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver quality care tailored to patients of all ages.
  • Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills while adhering to policies and standards of care.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure adequate staffing levels meet patient needs.
  • Conduct regular rounds on patients, focusing on those with complex needs.
  • Ensure the safe and accurate administration of medications and treatments.
  • Maintain open communication with the healthcare team regarding patient care and management issues.
  • Identify urgent situations and engage in effective problem-solving.
  • Contribute to budget planning and monitor resource utilization.
  • Facilitate performance improvement initiatives and data collection efforts.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and educator for nursing staff.
  • Participate in the hiring and evaluation processes for nursing personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and contribute to the development of nursing standards.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities and support team members.
  • Actively participate in shared leadership initiatives within the unit.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid nursing license in the State of Maryland; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
  • Specialty certification is preferred.
  • Three to five years of relevant clinical experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing practices and developmental stages of patients is necessary.
