Job Overview:
The Security Compliance Expert will conduct evaluations of clients' adherence to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), encompassing all stages of our established compliance methodology. This role requires extensive engagement with various technical, procedural, and documentation controls across a diverse range of technology and business functions necessary for compliance. Responsibilities may include assessing, managing, driving, and tracking all PCI compliance-related initiatives, identifying compliance deficiencies, developing remediation strategies, monitoring compliance status, and finalizing Reports of Compliance (RoC), Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQ), and Attestations of Compliance (AoC) in accordance with PCI Standards Security Council (SSC) requirements and specifications.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in problem-solving, project management, compliance/risk analysis, and a strong understanding of information security processes and technologies. Proficiency in technical report writing and excellent client engagement and consultative abilities are essential. Candidates should also have experience in several of the following areas: conducting security evaluations of networks, systems, policies, and procedures; applying information security and risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001/2, NIST 800-53, OWASP, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute PCI DSS compliance evaluations, resulting in a Report on Compliance or Self-Assessment Questionnaire along with the corresponding Attestation of Compliance.
  • Perform PCI DSS readiness evaluations, offering guidance and recommendations in preparation for formal compliance assessments.
  • Collaborate with various customer technical teams, business units, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders to conduct interviews and gather evidence required for the assessment.
  • Conduct additional (non-PCI) Security Evaluations focused on security infrastructure technology, personnel, and processes against requirements defined in established or proprietary security frameworks.
  • Identify areas necessitating remediation (i.e., issues or gaps) or potential improvements within the compliance process.
  • Employ critical thinking and innovative analysis techniques in executing tests, distilling results, and providing actionable recommendations for mitigating gaps and enhancing existing processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and regularly communicate project status for stakeholder and management review.
  • Develop and present reports that effectively capture, explain, and communicate assessment results to diverse technical and business audiences.
  • Contribute to the creation of services, methodologies, and collateral materials (e.g., templates, marketing materials, statements of work, etc.) necessary to define and deliver the services of the practice.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security and conducting compliance evaluations.
  • 3+ years of experience as a certified QSA (version 3.2.1 of the PCI DSS).
  • Strong background in Information Technology Infrastructure.
  • Maintain a current security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, METI - Registered Information Security Specialist).
  • Hold a current audit certification (e.g., CISA, GIAC GSNA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, IRCA ISMS Lead Principal Auditor, IIA Certified Internal Auditor).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key customer stakeholders (e.g., process owners, technical resources) and other team members.
  • Excellent time management, written documentation, and oral presentation skills.
Additional Desired Qualifications and Skills:
  • Current QSA Certification - preferred.
  • Familiarity with multiple security (NIST, ITIL, CobiT, ISO) and regulatory (HIPAA, GLBA, SOX, etc.) frameworks.
  • 3+ years of consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience or familiarity with Cloud environments and/or Cloud Security.
  • Experience or familiarity with Application Security.
  • Experience or familiarity with Information systems security.
  • Experience or familiarity with Network design, configuration, and security.
  • Experience or familiarity with conducting Risk Assessments.
  • College degree in a technical discipline desired.
  • Additional PCI SSC certifications (e.g., ASV, QPA, ISA, P2PE Assessor, 3DES Assessor, etc.) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the ability to create clear, concise presentation materials and reports using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to deliver services to clients.
