The Habitat for Humanity ReStore operates under the auspices of Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County, aiming to raise funds through the sale of donated construction materials and household goods. This initiative not only supports the operational budget of HFHGC but also promotes recycling, reduces landfill waste, offers affordable home improvement products, and enhances Habitat's presence within the community.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Support the Store Manager in executing all daily operations of the ReStore efficiently and effectively.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to donors, patrons, and volunteers.
  • Accurately and efficiently manage the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Assist customers in finding products throughout the store.
  • Engage with donors in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assess the condition and pricing of incoming donations.
  • Ensure the store remains clean and safe for all visitors.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing store operations.
  • Articulate the organization's mission and objectives to volunteers and customers.
  • Utilize material handling equipment as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to accomplish tasks and effectively engage volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in customer service or retail is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the organization's mission.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.

WORKING GUIDELINES: Adhere to Habitat's mission principles and departmental objectives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • No formal degree required, though experience in customer service or retail is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and capability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Regular attendance is essential, with availability to work from Tuesday to Saturday.
