Sonographer - Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sonographer - Maternal Fetal Medicine to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine and detailed OB/GYN sonographic imaging procedures in a Physician Office or Clinic setting specific to Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and detailed sonography imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols (AIUM)
  • Explain procedures to patients and provide care while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation
  • Perform OB and MFM procedures, including amniocentesis
  • Work independently and effectively manage patient flow and technical procedures
  • Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy, and take steps to acquire additional information as needed
  • Transfer and verify image data in PACS and other digital and reporting systems
  • Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and orderliness of work area
  • Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, and report safety events immediately
  • Assist in instruction of students and new staff as necessary
  • Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarking
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology
  • RDMS Abdomen (AB)(ARDMS) or RDMS Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN)(ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Tech (RVT)(ARDMS) or RDMS Pediatric Sonography (PS)(ARDMS) or RDMS Breast (BR)(ARDMS) or Sonography (S)(ARRT) or Breast Sonography (BS)(ARRT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI) (RVS) upon hire
  • Minimum 3 years of Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography experience required

  • Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve work environment
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and technical procedures
