Job Summary

The Staff Psychiatrist is directly responsible for diagnosing or evaluating behavioral, emotional and cognitive disorders through observation, interview and psychological tests. Applies theory relating to behavior and mental processes to formulate and administer treatment that includes counseling and therapy. Helps patients work toward the maintenance and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning. The psychiatrist is also responsible for appropriate documentation in the patient chart.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and evaluate behavioral, emotional and cognitive disorders through observation, interview and psychological tests.
  • Apply theory relating to behavior and mental processes to formulate and administer treatment that includes counseling and therapy.
  • Help patients work toward the maintenance and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly.
Requirements
  • MD or DO from accredited medical school.
  • Licensed by the State of Michigan and Board Certified.
  • Valid DEA license.
