The Technical Specialist, GHG Emissions Inventory Verification is a critical role at SCS Global Services, responsible for verifying carbon footprint claims for corporate and entity-level reporting under voluntary and compliance schemes. This position requires a strong understanding of greenhouse gas accounting principles, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Audit and verify greenhouse gas emissions inventories for clients worldwide
- Conduct document reviews, quantitative analyses, and site visits to ensure accuracy and completeness of emissions data
- Develop and implement verification protocols to ensure compliance with relevant standards and schemes
- Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Manage a portfolio of audits concurrently, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as accounting, data science, or environmental science
- 4+ years of professional experience in a related field, with a strong focus on greenhouse gas accounting and verification
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to conduct audits
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- International travel experience
- ARB-accredited Lead Verifier for the Compliance Offset Protocol or MRR
- Proficiency in GIS software, such as ArcGIS, Python, and/or R
- Experience with LCA and/or Scope 3 emissions
