As an Academic Adviser, you will play a critical role in guiding students through their academic journey, providing personalized guidance and support to help them navigate the complexities of higher education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic advising to students, helping them to choose and plan their academic programs, and ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed.
- Develop and implement academic recovery programs for students who are struggling academically, providing them with the support and guidance they need to get back on track.
- Collaborate with various departments and units across the university to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and well-rounded education, and that they are prepared for their future careers.
- Monitor student progress, identifying areas where students may need additional support or guidance, and providing them with the resources they need to succeed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the support and guidance they need to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Requirements:
- Masters degree or higher in a related field, plus one year of work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of academic programs and policies, with the ability to provide guidance and support to students on a range of academic issues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
