We are seeking a full-time Interior Designer (Level 3 or 4) to join our team in either our Syracuse or Troy, NY office. As an Interior Designer at SWBR, you will be responsible for interior design, collaboration with interior designers and architects to develop design solutions, and establishing and building the interior design presence and library within your office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage small interior design projects with some supervision, set and manage client expectations.
  • Produce project drawings, schedules, and specification information for interior building materials and furnishings per SWBR standards.
  • Perform product research, furniture specifications, and answer client questions.
  • Review and process submittals and participate in punch lists.
  • Answer requests for information (RFI), produce architect's supplemental information (ASI) packages.
  • Lead client meetings/presentations and work directly with clients.
  • Prepare and present materials boards, order/cut samples, and layout boards.
  • Prepare informal and formal presentations, including renderings and sketches.
  • Project documentation, including CAD production.
  • Prepare furniture specification packages.
  • Establish and maintain the interior design presence and library within your office.
Requirements:
  • College degree in Interior Design or Architecture, with 8-15 years of experience in interior design with a commercial architecture/design firm.
  • NCIDQ certification required.
  • Knowledge of LEED V4 and WELL.
  • Ability to self-direct and perform work tasks without direct supervision.
  • Understanding of project team member roles, interior design principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of interior building codes and regulations.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to maintain high-quality standards and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Revit, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D color renderings, and other programs.
  • Understanding of furniture scope/tasks identified in proposal contracts.
  • Ability to identify when additional services are requested by clients and communicate information with project managers.
  • Knowledge of furniture, including wood, metal, polypropylene, and various upholsteries, as well as furniture sizes and required spatial clearances.
  • Understanding of the importance of researching product options, limitations, content, durability, cost, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a normal office setting and occasionally visit active construction sites, and must be physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and keyboard.
  • Position requires occasional lifting, up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $64,400 - $80,432. The actual offer will be based on experience, education level, and demonstrated skills, and will be at the discretion of the employer.
