The Lead Laboratory Specialist is expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of all laboratory sections, perform the responsibilities of a Medical Technologist III, and assist the supervisor in overseeing laboratory operations during their absence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, along with certification from recognized agencies such as ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, or HHS (HEW).

OR

  • An Associate's Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, coupled with certification as a Medical Technologist.

OR

  • A graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) with certification as a Medical Technologist.

OR

  • A Grandfathered Medical Technologist who qualified on or before February 28, 1992, and holds current certification as a Medical Technologist.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Capability to execute and perform clinical laboratory procedures in accordance with established standards and regulations.
Must undergo a Color-Acuity screening Test.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Weekend Requirements: Yes; every third weekend rotation
On-Call Requirements: No
Schedule: Mon-Fri Evenings
Hours: 11am-9:30pm
