Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Manager to join our team at AmTrust Financial Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and ensuring the Workers' Compensation claims adjusters activities are handled within the AmTrust Best Practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain professional customer and broker relations by identifying and meeting customer needs.
- Ensure that staff demonstrates customer service principles.
- Monitor and regulate performance of assigned or delegated tasks and held accountable for team performance.
- Assure compliance to the AmTrust Claims handling Guidelines and assure excellent Customer Service.
- Secures, evaluates and develops staff to ensure that staff works effectively as a team.
- Informs leadership of current case status through regular communications and reports.
- Ensures that all AmTrust policies, procedures and controls are followed.
- Utilize all claims related tools, systems and reports to manage team results and performance.
- Provide technical oversight through supervisor diaries, one on ones, claims reviews.
- Ability to actively review work of others via file reviews; identify coaching opportunities, act on needed coaching opportunities and position individual for successful development leading to advancement within the organization.
- Understands and holds the team accountable to comply and instill thru mentoring that each individual meets expectations.
- Works with the team to manage the negotiation of claims settlements ensuring timely and cost effective claims resolution.
- Maintains current knowledge of related laws and regulations and communicates to staff.
- Performs other projects as assigned.
- Defines team goals and communicates those goals to assigned staff. Motivates people to perform at the highest level.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent.
- 7 plus years of progressive management or supervisory experience within Workers' Compensation insurance industry.
- SIP certificate where required.
- Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.
- Thorough knowledge of related government laws and regulations.
