Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide SSUB to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Dietary Aide SSUB, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and assemble food according to established recipes and guidelines, monitoring and documenting food temperatures as assigned.
  • Stock patient floor kitchenettes with bulk nourishment and supplies, monitoring and documenting refrigerator temperatures on nursing units as assigned.
  • Serve food to patients, employees, and guests using proper portion control, handling techniques, and adhering to temperature standards.
  • Prepare assigned areas of responsibility by obtaining and organizing necessary food and supplies, replenishing as needed.
  • Distribute food, bulk nourishment, and patient meal trays according to dietary procedures.
  • Keep trayline refrigerators stocked and replenish as needed.
  • Interact with patients to assist with menu selection, adhering to age, abilities, diet prescription, food preferences, and cultural/ethnic dietary restrictions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or 1 year related experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work well with others, customer-oriented.
Working Conditions

This role requires 100% standing or walking, lifting of loads up to 40 pounds, and ability to push and pull food carts. Potential for falls, burns, and cuts, bending, and frequent changes in body mechanics required during shift.
