Toolmaker Machinist

S&C Electric is seeking a skilled Toolmaker Machinist to join our team. As a key member of our Prototyping and Tooling department, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining production tooling, including stamping and forming dies, CNC machining fixtures, inspection gages, assembly tooling, and product test equipment.

• Build and troubleshoot various types of tools, including stamping/forming dies, molds, fixtures, gages, and assembly tooling.
• Assume responsibility for the quality of completed assignments.
• Work independently to meet productivity and due date requirements of assignments.
• Problem solve and determine solutions for various types of tooling problems.

• Ability to use and apply shop mathematics, including geometry, trigonometry, and Machinery's Handbook formulas.
• Ability to work independently and apply ingenuity to analyze and resolve problems.
• Ability to design and make your own small fixtures and jigs for machining operations.
• Ability to utilize Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
• Adherence to all required company safety rules and practices.
• Ability to mentor other team members.
• Ability to operate lathes, mills, grinders, saws, drill press, etc.
• Ability to use measuring instruments.
• Understanding of the 5s principles.
• Ability to operate all standard Tool Room Equipment.
