Nurse Practitioner

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at our Norwalk location. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Behavioral Health unit.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients, including assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation of treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and psychological well-being, including mental status exams and documentation of progress.
- Administer psychiatric medications and provide education to patients and families.
- Lead and co-lead groups, exercising principles of group dynamics and promoting patient engagement.
- Ensure patient rights are respected and protected, including the right to autonomy and informed decision-making.
- Deliver high-quality patient education and support, addressing the learning needs of patients and families.
- Participate in leadership roles, including charge nurse responsibilities, to ensure effective care delivery and team management.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, using principles of AIDET and promoting clear, concise communication.
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut.
- Minimum experience: zero to six months.
- Desired: none.
- Significant manual skills and motor coordination.
- Significant occupational risk.
- Very Heavy effort, exerting up to 50 lbs. force.
- Significant exposure to dirt, odor, noise, human waste, etc.
